St. Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment, is probably one of the most venerated saints to this day. To honor the humble man, the meaningful, one of a kind LOVE THE ANIMALS handmade necklace features a vintage-look brass St. Francis of Assisi with animals pendant, glowing light peach baroque pearls, ruby red Czech glass beads and copper.. For Old World charm, the oxidized brass St. Francis pendant was patterned after an antique Italian religious medal. Raised against the background is the saint himself, arms raised, with a diverse group of animals: a dog, cat, rabbit, turtle, deer, squirrel and doves. Behind him, to the right, is a church and to the left are three crosses representing Mt. Calvary. Above him are the words: St Francis of Assisi Protector of Animals. The pendant is polished to a warm glow (something the photos don’t capture). The back side is smooth with a rustic, worn look. The St. Francis pendant is connected to the main body of the necklace with a heavy duty copper jump ring.

Since wearing pearls is supposed to spread loving vibrations, light peach rice krispie pearls pair beautifully with the meaning of the St. Francis pendant. The pearls are given the “baroque” name because of their irregular shape. The pearls positively glow. To represent the Holy Trinity, the pearls are grouped in sets of three. A ruby red tri-faceted Czech glass bead and small copper beads separate each grouping of pearls. Because of the faceting, the ruby red glass beads add subtle sparkle to the design. A textured copper toggle clasp securely finishes the necklace.
