A beautifully perfect gift for the woman who loves yoga and / or meditates, the meaningful RENGE lotus blossom earrings will quickly become jewelry favorites to be worn time and time again! Created from two-sided pink and clear Czech glass teardrop lotus beads, the one of a kind earrings also feature sparkling rose gold Swarovski crystals, copper and sterling silver. The gorgeous teardrops were created from a mix of pink and clear glass with a classic five-petaled lotus impressed into both sides. To add an antiqued look and to bring out the details of the lotus flower, a metallic bronze PIcasso finish was added which settled into the recessed areas and the “pits” and “cracks” of the glass. The lotus teardrops have a smooth satin-like finish and are somewhat translucent in good light. Copper disc spacers cap the top and bottom of each bead. Since the lotus teardrops are two-sided, the earrings look fabulous from any angle when worn.
Above each pink lotus bead is a sparkling faceted Swarovski crystal bicone coated in a gorgeous special finish called “rose gold.” The gold coating ramps up the sparkle of the crystals at each movement of the head when the earrings are worn. Sterling silver French hook earwires with copper bead accents finish the amazing earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the RENGE lotus flower earrings were created for the woman who loves yoga and also loves one of a kind artisan made jewelry! “Renge” is Buddist for “lotus.”

Symbolism of the lotus: The padma (Nelumbo nucifera, the sacred lotus) is an aquatic plant, often growing in muddy water, that plays a central role in many religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. Because the lotus rises from muddy waters and blooms as a brilliantly pure flower, it is thought of as a symbol of human consciousness on the path to spiritual enlightenment. In Buddhism, the lotus is symbolic of a person’s path through life. The lotus seed represents the early stage of the karmic cycle. During the next stage, the lotus bud travels through the muddy water emerging on the surface into light - this represents following the path of spirituality, leaving attachments behind. Finally when lotus blossoms, a person has become fully awakened and has achieved nirvana.
