One of a kind jewelry that will definitely be cherished for years to come, the VILLA TOSCANA necklace will show everyone that you have an eye for unique treasures! The handmade necklace features a lovely Tuscan villa scene pendant, Peruvian terracotta ceramic beads, Czech glass and sterling silver. The highlight of the necklace is the eye-catching pendant that was made from a recycled broken plate. The colorful scene is wonderful: a sitting dog, a girl petting a cat, a manicured landscape and a lovely villa reminiscent of the Italian countryside. The edges of the broken plate have been decorated with lead free pewter “frame” with earthy designs. The reverse side of the pendant also shows a part of the back of the plate (see photo #6). The pendant is securely connected to the main body of the necklace with three heavy duty sterling jump rings.
Perfectly complementing the colors of the pendant are flying saucer-shaped terracotta ceramic beads. The beads were individually artisan made in Peru (where I bought them in a Lima market years ago). As you can see in the photos, the beads are graduated in size and have a wide range of terracotta tones. Scattered throughout the terracotta beads are faceted silver Czech glass beads, adding sparkle, and sterling silver daisy spacers. A textured sterling silver hook clasp set fastens the necklace. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the VILLA TOSCANA necklace was created for the woman who adores unique, artisan jewelry with a story to tell! “Villa Toscana” is Italian for “Tuscan villa.”
