Show your love of bees and your concern for massive population native pollinator declines by wearing these handmade BOMBUS bumble bee earrings! One of a kind jewelry, the beauties feature round enamel bumble bee dangles, speckled honey amber rondelles, amber Czech glass, copper and sterling silver. The eye-catching enamel on copper bee dangles were individually artisan handmade. A permanent black and yellow bumble bee decal with transparent wings was added to a shiny white enamel background and kiln fused at high heat. Adding whimsical fun, the bumblebees are shown from different angles. The back of each dangle is enameled with speckled blue glass. ***Please note: Even though the bee charms are very durable, enamel is glass fused to a metal, in this case, copper. If the earrings are dropped on a hard surface, they can chip.
Complementing the bumble bees, real amber rondelles and Czech glass discs were stacked above. The amber rondelles are real amber but have been heat treated (as most amber is). Two types of amber were melted together and reformed: a translucent light honey amber along with a darker amber that shows up as speckles. Above each amber rondelle is a frosted amber Czech glass disc and a corrugated copper bead. Since both the amber and the glass are translucent, they glow amazingly when the earrings are worn. Sterling silver French hooks earwires with copper bead accents finish the meaningful earrings. Carefully designed and handmade by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs, the BOMBUS bumble bee earrings are a wonderful gift for the woman who loves native pollinators and also adores wearing one of a kind artisan jewelry. “Bombus” is the genus name for bumble bees, derived from a Latin word meaning a “buzzing sound.”
